What is a RED band?

RED band is the highest grade in Muay Thai and shows the dedication to the Art.  Here at 8 Limbs Muay Thai, we want to encourage every single student to reach the grade of RED band.

There are a total of 10 grades in Muay Thai

1. White (beginner)

2. Yellow

3. Green

4. Blue

5. Blue 1

6. Brown

7. Brown 1

8. Brown 2

9. Brown 3

10. Red

We would expect you to grade every 3 months and we hold grading every month so if you were to miss a grading for whatever reason you wouldn’t have to wait a further full 3 months before you can grade again. So, if you were to dedicate yourself and aim at being a RED band, it would take you roughly 2 ½ years of dedicated training.

Grading gives us the opportunity to assess your progress, a chance for us to sit down and give you 100% attention, it’s a way for you to improve and become the best you can be in Muay Thai and a once-in-a-lifetime achievement.

Being a RED band does not mean you are invincible, it means you never gave up, worked past the pain, overcame the disappointments, didn’t give into your doubts, faced your fears, and learned enough to realise how little you actually knew. A RED band is the start of your Muay Thai journey.
